Susan Ramsay-Smith

Sue began studying art at Eastbourne College of Arts & Technology in 1990 then progressed to 3 dimensional studies of ceramics gaining her City & Guilds ceramics qualification and later her C&G Certificate for Teaching Adult Education  in 2003.  She has since taught willow and pottery classes at several community colleges and currently runs them from her barn studio near Heathfield using her art to produce designs for both.

Since her recent world travel experience  Sue has been inspired to create new pieces incorporating symbols from the Incas, Australia, N.Z.  and Far East cultures onto her thrown domestic ware and sculptural forms for the garden.

Sue’s work is exhibited and sold in local galleries and craft shows and she is Chair of Wealden Potters group, like minded ceramicists who meet regularly to see professionals demonstrate & hold summer raku firings – new members always welcome!

Exhibiting at Brighton Festival Fringe event in May with Wealden Potters, Gallery North’s Hailsham September Festival and various Wealden craftworkers events throughout the year.
