Michael has lived in East Sussex all of his life, in 1986 he began his employment for Graham J Baldwin as an apprentice. Mr Baldwin was a successful and well respected roofing contractor in the South East of England and he trained Michael in every aspect of roofing, he remained working for Graham for 23 years.
Early in 2009, Graham retired after nearly 40 years in the roofing business and Michael took over.
After only a couple of months the business was accepted into the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and Trust Mark, and then in 2010 we were invited to join the Confederation of Roofing Contractors.
They cover all aspects of the roofing industry for both domestic and commercial customers. They are one of the few roofing companies still using hot bitumen to bond the layers of felt together on flat roofs, in preference to torch on felt method.
Michael E. Connor Roofing specialises in repairing and re-roofing listed buildings as well as regular tiled roofs. They have even put a new roof on the carriage of a steam train!
